17 years ago, a stray Tabby cat with a bleached spot and freckled ears wandered into Mary Watson’s life, and found a loving home. Mary named her new feminine friend Mama Cat, and they were excellent company for each other. Mama Cat seemed to prefer the company of women over men, and like many of her female friends, preferred treats to food; only settling for the cat food as a last resort. Mama Cat was proud of keeping her feline figure even while choosing delicious milk and cheese for meals as she got older. This morning, kidney failure sent Mama Cat to her eternal rest. She leaves behind a son, Tommy Cat, and a niece, Gracie, and her bereaved owners, Mary and Connie, who’s loving daughter Jennifer shared a unique fact about Mama Cat: she loved to play with a pencil. Mama Cat never learned how to write, but has nevertheless left an indelible mark of love on all who knew her. She is laid to rest in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina.
